Our employees have a passion and love for what they do. You can be sure that as a resident, you will begin to form a bond with them as they care for you like family. We have a long list of employees who have cared for our residents for ten or more years:
Gloria Saunders, LPN - Director of Nursing & Resident Services, Admissions
have worked at Wedgwood Estates for 20 years. It never seems like coming to work when I come in. It is always a pleasure to be with my extended Wedgewood family. I started as a charge nurses on night shift then I was offered this position several years ago and I did not fully know what it all entailed. I have found that I do enjoy it. It is rewarding to be in a situation to help others during a time when their lives are changing and they find they are needing help with their activities of daily living that most of us take for granted or they may be looking to downsize and not be responsible for repairs and maintenance of their homes. I have learned so much from our owners and coworkers over the last 20 years and I am looking forward to learning much more. I live in Mount Vernon near family who I am blessed to spend a lot of time with. When I'm not at Wedgewood I enjoy spending time with my family, taking country rides, traveling, reading, and taking walks.
Helen Sprowl - Admissions Liason
I was born & raised in Burlington, Iowa. When I was 21, I moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. That is where I met the Lord Jesus and surrendered my life to Him. I said, "Here am I, Lord, send me." The Lord led me to Tulsa, Oklahoma for Bible College. That is where I met my husband, Joseph Sprowl, who happened to be from Ohio. Joseph & I pastored in several states for a total of 22 years. We pastored in Michigan, Kansas, Texas, & Ohio. Between 2006-2010, my husband Joe & I were Student Housing Directors at Rhema Bible College where we graduated from in 1984. We have 2 grown children, Nathan & Alisha. Nathan and his wife, Tiffany, have three wonderful children, Dylan, Grady, and Nora.
Kerstin Wilson - Office Manager and HR Supervisor
I have been part of the Wedgewood family for 12 years now, and I cannot imagine a better place to work. God is at the center of everything we do at Wedgewood Estates. Caring for our residents has never felt like just a job to me, but more of a ministry. It brings me joy to see their smiles and laughter as they enjoy a game, music time, or socialize with one another. One of my favorite parts of my job is spending time with residents, getting to know them, and learning all the wisdom and lifetime of experiences they have to share. Outside of my time at Wedgewood, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband Chad, and our family. We have 5 amazing children who keep us hopping with sports, music lessons, and church activities. We enjoy family game nights, movie nights, campfires, and exploring new places together.
Tammy Bletz - Dietary Supervisor
Wedgewood is an amazing place to work and I have been here for 17 years. In everything we do at Wedgewood, God comes first- from our daily morning prayers to every event. The collective wisdom and amazing lives of our residents is outstanding. We serve them and get back so much more in return. My passion has always been cooking. When not cooking at Wedgewood, I enjoy cooking for my family, especially my 8 grandchildren. Before joining the Wedgewood family, I owned my own restaurant for 10 years. I had waitressed at the restaurant for 14 years prior to owning it. I have always loved serving people. Coming from a huge family may have something to do with that! I have always been service-oriented- serving my God, family, and others. Serving others has always been fulfilling and rewarding to me. I believe if you are called to be in the service industry and have a passion for it, it shows in all you do. This serving attitude shows in our entire staff.
