Gloria Saunders Celebrates 25 Years at Wedgewood

When Gloria Saunders, Director of Resident Services & Director of Nursing, began working at Wedgewood Estates 25 years ago, a dozen eggs could be purchased for 91 cents. The cost of milk was $2.78 a gallon, and a gallon of gas was $1.51. 25 years seems like a lifetime ago, and for some it is.

25 years ago, Wedgewood Estates was just a toddler. We were only 2 years old. I can recall so many faces from over the years. So many people have come in and out of my life at Wedgewood, including residents, their family members, and staff.

One face that has remained constant is Gloria Saunders.

When I think about Gloria, I think of a dedicated hard worker. I think of a person who has been with us during the good, the bad, and the ugly. Gloria isn't someone who quits easily. She wouldn't be considered the “faint of heart.” Gloria is all in. She's dedicated to our residents and their families, our staff, and to Wedgewood Estates.

Gloria wears many hats- all of which are stressful. She handles tours and admissions for both independent and assisted living, manages our nursing and companion staff, and is a communicating liaison between doctors, hospice, therapies and the hospital. She also listens to important customer feedback to help solve problems.

There are not enough words to describe the gratitude we feel for Gloria. Thank you, Gloria, for your hard work and dedication to Wedgwood Estates and our residents. We look forward to many more years. You have given us an 8-year notice and we plan on holding you to it!
